Fast vegetable stew with fillet of beef

September 27, 2011

Yesterday the weather was amazing, we had a great outdoor lunch.

Today the weather changed, rain beating against the windows with a large temperature drop.

I was going to make fillet steak with steamed veg, yet changed my mind and made stew.

This stew can be made in 30 minutes. Serves about 6

1 onion, 3 garlic toes and 5 small leeks roughly chopped

Fry in olive oil

add 1 small white cabage

small bag of cleaned ready shaped carrots

400 ml of ready to pore gravy

200 grams of depodded beans

Cut the meat +/- 800 grams into cubs

20 grams of fresh mixed herbs chopped

Pat the meat cubes dry , sprinkle with flower

add 15 cooked halved potatoes & add 200 ml water, pepper & salt to taste

Fry the meat in butter, don’t put to much in the pan rather fry several times to keep the heat,

which browns the meat and keeps the juices in.

Half 2 handfuls of mushrooms

add beef and mushrooms to the pot, stir gently

serve

YUM!
